The Harmon Hawk Walk will take place Friday afternoon, October 8th. Each classroom will sign up for a time to walk. Students will be walking on the sidewalk that surrounds the perimeter of the building. Walking music will be provided by the PTO. The Harmon PTO will also provide a snack and a bottle of water for each student to enjoy after their walk. In order for students to be eligible for prizes, donation envelopes need to be returned by Monday, October 4th. An informational note and donation envelope went home with each student.

We will have another Harmon Spirit Day on Friday, September 24th. It will be Harmon Hawk Day! Wear your Harmon gear or you can just wear something with the color red or the color yellow. Start digging though your closet or drawers to find your Hawk wear or a red or yellow shirt.

Our Harmon parking lot is bigger and better! If you haven't seen it yet, you may want to drive by prior to the start of school. There is a new entrance/exit from Little Mack Road as well as a one way entry and drop off along Harmon Street. If you click on the headline of this news story, you will find a map that outlines the new traffic flow pattern. Students will no longer be dropped off along Harmon Street. Please take a look at the map!
Our annual Harmon Fall School Picture event will take place on Tuesday, September 14th. While ordering a picture package is optional, please keep in mind that all Harmon students will be photographed for the yearbook. Yearbook orders will take place at a later date. Picture notes were sent home with students, but you can access a copy of the order form by clicking on the headline of this article. For families that are interested in ordering pictures be sure to send your order in on Tuesday, September 14th or order online with LifeTouch.
Our Harmon Curriculum Night is a special event for parents! It will take place on Monday, September 13, from 6:00 - 7:00 PM. Each classroom teacher will be offering three different sessions for parents to attend. Parents only need to attend one of the sessions offered by their child's teacher. Friday, September 10th will be our first spirit day of the school year! We will be celebrating Favorite Team Day. Students can wear a hat, jersey, or t-shirt of their favorite team. If you don't have the gear, no worries! Just wear your team's favorite colors. If your child belongs to a local sports team or parks and recreation team, feel free to wear the team jersey. Plan now for what you will wear on Friday, September 10th!
If you're looking to purchase some back to school supplies for your child, we have a suggested list. Please keep in mind that we do have pencils, basic crayons, and such here at school. If you click on the the headline of this announcement, you will find a copy of the suggested supply list. If you are not able to purchase your own supplies, Mrs. Dell, our school social worker, does have some backpacks and supplies. You can contact Mrs. Dell by calling Harmon or by sending her an email.
