Principal's Message

Hello, Harmon Families!

Welcome to School!  Our school is committed to fostering academic excellence.  Harmon Elementary School is home to just over 300 students in kindergarten through fifth grade. Our dedicated staff of energetic, creative and talented teachers deliver a stimulating curriculum that tries to capture the unique interests of each child.

As we prepare to begin the 2021 - 2022 school year, our parking lot is under a massive renovation.  Thanks to our community passing a recent bond issue, our Harmon parking lot will more than double in size.  We are currently adding a newly designed drop off zone that is closer to the building, expanded parking, a larger back parking lot with another drop off zone, and an additional entrance/exit to the back parking lot from Little Mack Road.  All of the parking lot renovations are currently underway and should be completed by the start of the school year.  Thanks to this same bond issue, within two years we will also see some major building renovations and upgrades.  The parking lot is just the start of the renovation excitement!

Our Harmon students have a variety of activities that enhance their educational experience. Various building teachers assist in leading each of these activities.  While some activities were placed on hold last year, we are hoping that this upcoming school year will have each and every activity up and running.  These activities include:

  • Safety Patrol (for Grade 5)
  • Green Team & Gardening Club (Harmon is a Macomb County Green School)
  • Chess Club (for Grades 4 and 5)
  • Hawk Heroes (Cosponsored by the JOOI)
  • Girls on the Run (Cosponsored with the WYCA)
  • Science Olympiad (for Grades 3, 4, and 5)
  • Student Council

I encourage parents, students, and community members to keep checking our website for updated information and newsletters.  Be sure to contact us if you have any questions.

Welcome to Harmon, a great place to learn and grow!
